$1.99

I’ve been in search lately of a way to reengage my blog. It finally happened on a train Wednesday from LA to San Diego. Flipped to my iTunes and sure enough, there was Bruce Springsteen (yes, again!) Even if you’re only a mild fan, please take a $1.99 and buy the video of Springsteen and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine playing The Ghost of Tom Joad. (The proceeds are all being donated to a foundation established for the organist for the E Street Band who died from cancer this year).
Anyway, you’ll see and hear a fairly nice, mellow beginning, but as Radar O’Reilly used to say in M*A*S*H when the helicopters were about to be appear, “Wait for it!” By the end, not only do you see a spectacular guitar solo, but you now own a constant reminder of what can be created when you get people to do what they are best at and give them the stage to do it. Watch Springsteen (who arguably doesn’t need to share stage with anyone) and how he revels in the talent of someone else.
And witness what they create.
Lisa and I got to be there that night in Anaheim, and it was truly one of the memorable performances I’ve ever seen. Today it all came rushing back.
